Averitt is seeking a Fitness Center Coach to help team members improve their overall health, wellness, and fitness through coaching, fitness education, and group fitness instruction. This role works directly with fitness center members to support their fitness goals, teach classes, and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness center environment.
The ideal candidate is passionate about health and wellness, enjoys helping others achieve their fitness goals, and is committed to creating a positive member experience.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 40-hour work week
- Monday through Friday
- Hours are generally 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; however, the schedule may need to be adjusted periodically to meet operational and member coverage needs.
Fitness Coaching & Wellness Support
- Provide guidance and encouragement to fitness center members as they work toward their health and fitness goals.
- Support members in developing and maintaining healthy lifestyle habits.
- Monitor progress and provide ongoing motivation and coaching.
- Help create a positive and welcoming environment for all members.
Group Fitness Instruction
- Lead group fitness classes in a safe, engaging, and professional manner.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and fitness best practices.
- Answer member questions related to fitness, nutrition, and general wellness.
- Encourage participation and help create a positive fitness center culture.
Fitness Center Operations
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming fitness center.
- Clean and maintain fitness equipment and workout areas.
- Wash, fold, and stock towels for member use.
- Ensure equipment and facility areas are properly maintained and ready for daily operations.
- Follow established safety and cleanliness procedures.

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, sports medicine, or health promotion is a plus.
- Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) or Group Fitness Instructor from NASM or ACE.
- Certifications in specialized group format classes ex. Yoga, Pilates, Zumba.
- Current, hands-on CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and encourage individuals from a variety of fitness levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
